Other Ceremonies
There are a variety of different traditional and modern ceremonies that you may want to add to your wedding.
Some of these ceremonies may include;
- The Sand Ceremony which can be a beautiful and meaningful pouring of two different colour sands together is used to symbolize the joining of the bride and groom or the joining of their families. This ceremony requires three small vials or vases, one for you and your fiancé to pour the sand into and two for each of you to pour the sand from. Each of the two vials of colour sand symbolizes the separate lives of the bride and groom and their families. The two outside vials or vases can be used later to display fresh flowers following the wedding. You can put your vase containing your combined sand on display as a constant reminder of your special day!
- The Rose Ceremony is a lovely ceremony that expresses the love a couple has, when sometimes the words are not enough. Roses are exchanges as a couple’s first gift and symbolises simplistically ‘I love you’.

- A Ring Warming Ceremony is a beautiful way to involve your family and friends in your wedding ceremony. At the beginning of the ceremony a family member or friend holds the rings, and then they are passed to each person, making a silent wish for the couple and their future together. By the time the couple are ready to exchange rings, their wedding rings would have the blessings of all their family and friends.
- The releasing of Doves or Butterflies is another nice addition to your ceremony. The releasing of doves or butterfly’s symbolises new beginnings, good fortune, peace and joy.
